Post Tax Day Prayer

I thought this prayer by Walter Brueggemann which can be found in his book Prayers for a Privileged People
was quite appropriate both for the end of the week and for those still recovering from late night filing.
“On this day of internal revenue
some of us are paid up,
some of us owe,
some of us await a refund,
