To live in a consumer society means that we live in a society that is constantly seducing us to remember what we do not have. We need, we don’t have, if only we could get, wouldn’t it be great to have, I could do this if only I had……these are all familiar chorus lines to that song you can’t get out of your head called, consumerism. Did you know that Chicago’s nickname didn’t come from the reality that hard winds blow off lake Michigan, tumble down the skyscrapers, and seemingly can blow in every direction at the same time?
